I am a strong advocate for social justice and mental health awareness and believe in the inherent worth of every person. I am passionate about helping others alleviate personal suffering and combatting pervasive systemic oppression that perpetuates suffering. My approach to therapy is person-centered, solution focused, trauma-informed, empowerment- and strengths-based. I integrate elements of humanistic, interpersonal, EMDR, and cognitive behavioral modalities.
You will notice I often use humor strategically (not in a condescending or belittling way) and I think humor is a great way to make sense of and get through very serious situations. We will likely laugh together! I have been asked, "Are you going to sing to me?"
While I am not a singer (even though I love music), I hope this demonstrates how passionate I can get about your success. I know every one of us has value and worth, even though at times it may be difficult to see. Through a genuine and authentic therapeutic relationship, I am confident you can benefit from treatment and realize your potential.
